Nyabyeya School Library, Uganda
In 2008, our communities started to collect books to send to the school in Nyabyeya, a small village in Uganda where the daughter of one of our parishioners was working.
We collected such an enormous quantity that two entire school libraries were created - the only ones for many miles around.
These libraries have had a transforming effect on the local community: to find out more, read the library project's newsletter here (pdf version - 2Mb download)
Since the opening of the school library, the school has moved from being one of the least effective in the district to the second best!
One pupil has just been awarded a place at boarding school - a great achievement for him and the school.
